West to East
SATURDAY
I started the day on the west coast of North Wales at the Prestatyn Parkrun. The temperature was already in the 20s and made for a hot run. I finished on an official time of 29 mins 15 secs which is almost five minutes slower than when I last did this run four years ago. (Extra - the beach at Prestatyn with the offshore wind farms in the distance).
After breakfast in the sunshine at home, I headed up to the local agricultural show Caerwys. It's a huge event with lots of equestrian, livestock, classic cars, tractor driving and the usual produce, baking and craft categories. (see extra of one of the livestock classes). It was baking hot and I didn't envy the sheep there.
Lunch at home and then a 160 mile drive across the country (virtually the whole length of the M62) to Kingston upon Hull where we are staying for a few days. The car thermometer hit 32º C on the M60 around Manchester. It was warm and sunny when we arrived in Hull.
A first-class seafood dinner at the Humber Fish Company at Hull Marina (main blip) this evening.
We have had wall to wall sunshine all day. Back home in North Wales it has rained in the evening and overnight so at least the outdoor plants will have been watered.
