Sunday Surprise

Two of the Ancona pullets have started laying.  Purebred chooks don't usually lay in winter so I was surprised (and very pleased) to find two eggs in the nestbox in their house this morning.  Sadly, my big, placid Ancona rooster recently passed away from old age (10+ years) and I will be looking for a replacement in spring.
