Ducklings

Another sunny day but much hotter , up to 27 degrees. Too hot for me but we managed to keep cool , thank goodness for air conditioning in the car.
David’s birthday today so we went down to Aviemore. A delicious full Scottish breakfast in the coffee pot to start with. We sat outside and even though it was just 10 o clock it was hot in the sun.
Bought some fudge from Kilted Fudge and then headed for Uath Lochans. A wander round the lochs listening to the bird song and watching Four-spotted chasers and more damselflies. Spotted a toad searching for shelter under a rock. Watched a family of mallards swimming on the furtherest lochan. These two ducklings peeped out from the water lilies.
Back home and we could see the smoke from a big wildfire near Daviot. Hoping they’re able to put it out but it’s not an easy area to get to. We had to close the windows as we could smell the smoke.
Our niece had her baby today . A boy called Oscar , weighting 9lb 10oz delivered by C section. Mum and baby are doing well :)
A baby woodpecker made a brief appearance in the evening .
