The Architect

This beautiful morning we are anchored off the Shiant Islands in the Outer Hebrides.  As we ghosted in at dawn, the sea was mirror smooth with the most beautiful, ethereal mist hovering just above the water (see extra).

Just after 8:00 a.m. we climbed aboard a Zodiac and went on an hour-long cruise along the steep cliffs to explore some caves and to watch for seals and nesting birds.  Here's a puffin with some building material for a nest, serenely paddling along.  They are such adorable birds, and I really do love them ... I just wish they wouldn't choose me as a target for pooping on quite so frequently!  (The third "blessing" this week occurred this morning).
