Gunnera
Gunnera manicata at the Botanics.
Early swim. Afternoon walk along Queen Street, then across Stockbridge to Inverleith. Cooling breeze and sunshine. To the Botanics, spent some time looking at the many varieties of sweet pea planted in the plots near the Gardeners Cottage, some well on, some barely through the ground. Some labelled lathyrus, some lathrus ..
Back by the East corner of the pond; the gunnera is flourishing. The label is for the grass (Acorus gramineus 'Variegatus' or Variegated Japanese Sweet Flag) and indicates scale, since those stakes are about 30cm tall.
Reminder : Third Tuesday Blipmeet next Tuesday, 20th June. Meet at the East Gate of the Botanic Gardens at 10.15 am. Wander through the gardens, optional coffee at the West gate.
