I’m not quite sure who or what this opening into the churchyard is supposed to admit and who it should exclude. Dogs, children and slim people can pass freely, as long as you are not in a wheel chair or a pram. If you are not so nimble on your feet, or are rather wide around the girth , you may find yourself excluded.
Is it a case of dividing the sheep from the goats?
