Shopping
An eclectic mixture of items from Woodies.
We went into Waterford today. The main objective was a visit to a large second hand emporium. We need a few bits and pieces of furniture, and our general feeling was that reuse was better if possible.
In fact, we found nothing useful in the secondhand junk shop.
Then we popped next door to Woodies. We had a list, and we bought many of the items on the list, but we also bought stuff not on the list. Amongst other things, the trolley contains: a new washing line, to replace the old, broken one, a mini ironing board for my crafting, llama boxes to act as storage/bedside tables in the bookroom, an extendable window cleaner which, combined with the long ladder due for delivery in the next few days, may result in clean windows, a couple of ready planted hanging baskets, along with brackets to hang them from.
The total bill was shocking. Though, after studying it, we realised we had paid almost €50 for a plastic pot to put water in for the birds - we'd picked it up thinking it was just a nice deep plant saucer, when in fact it was part of a fancy gadget for plants in the living. We took it back, got a refund!
From there, we went next door again, to Lidl, to get a few essential and not so essential groceries.
By this time we were all shopped out, and glad to return to our house for R and R.
