Hot Pink
Got going early today as spending the day with Julia et al and getting there on public transport. Was going to be walk-bus-walk-train-walk-bus-walk but I thought it was too much with carrying extra weight of gifts for Julia and Tom so we got an Uber to the station. So it’s now just Uber-train- walk-bus-walk.
We read some unsavory reviews online about our campsite so we packed up all our outside equipment and set the alarm and security locks.
Pleasant train ride from Irlam Station to Manchester Oxford Rd Station. Then a quick glimpse of downtown Manchester on our way to the bus stop. Then bus ride to Julia and Tom’s. Public transport is cheap and easy here as long as you have someone who can interpret all the timetables!
The ‘star of the show’ Eden was napping when we arrived, so after a cup of tea, David went back to a barber shop that we saw on the way here for a cut and shave.
Bex arrived at lunchtime bearing these beautiful Peonies that perfectly matched her dress. She’d had a long train ride down from Northumberland for her first visit to meet Eden, her ‘first cousin once removed’. After being entertained by Eden’s antics with Rio the cat, we all went out for a walk in a lovely nearby park - Platt’s Field.
More napping, then Tom can home from work and we all went out for a delicious Indian dinner at the nearby restaurant road. I think it’s nicknamed ‘The Curry Mile’!
We left afterwards to catch the bus, then a pleasant ride on the Trans-Penine express train, then Uber back to the caravan site, where all was as we had left it
