One man and his dog

Another beautiful day today, so after church we headed down into East Lothian. We went first to Cockenzie House, in Port Seton and had lunch in the cafe there. It's recently been refurbished and has a new menu. I just had a sandwich but that was beautifully presented with a good sized salad garnish and crisps. Colin's vegan veg bowl was amazing with added strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apple, avocado, sweet potato, falafels, bread and much more. We like it there anyway but we'll definitely be back again. They have a terrace where we normally sit, but it was so hot today we choose to sit inside out of the sun.
After lunch we wandered through the gardens and I came across not one but two plants which were completely new to me. They are in the extra, the first, a daisy bush or Olearia Macrodonta or New Zealand Holly. Take your pick with whichever nashe you prefer. The leaves are very holly like and the flowers daisy like so you can see where the two common names come from. The second, to my surprise, is a variety of buddleia, it was certainly full of butterflies, red admirals, there is one on the blip, orange tips and cabbage whites and I think a meadow brown, the variety is Buddleia Alternifolia, the flower stems were beautiful.
From there we wandered down to the shore and along the sea path to the harbour. We came across the subject of my blip and his French bulldog having a great time in the little bay. You can see right across the Forth to Fife. We bought fish from the harbour and headed home. It was too hot to have the fish for dinner though, we've kept it for tomorrow.
The car thermometer was reading 29 degrees today.
