My! What Big Eyes You Have!

This funny fellow was on my front porch.  I've never seen one before, so I had to research it.  It is an alaus oculatus, commonly called the eastern eyed click beetle.   Apparently so named for the loud clicking sound they make when they jump.  He looks like a character in a children's book!  He was enjoying a rest in a brief bit of sunshine we had, gone now.  A few more days of this rainy streak, I guess.
