Childhood Memories
I can't see a Whitebeam in full leaf without thinking of my childhood.
My parents had a Whitebeam in the garden and it was the tree I learned how to climb trees in.
Squirrel arrived this morning and announced that she had forgotten to pick up her drinks bottle - so she had a bottle of water from the fridge.
She glugged a couple of mouthfuls and topped it up with MY squash. While she was doing that she spotted the shortbread fingers and quick as a flash there was one being scoffed.
I will have to hide them or it will become a regular occurrence.
After Squirrel headed off to school, SWMBO and I wet out to purchase a couple of things (one of them being squash!) and then called at the craft store to use the discounts we had been sent ...... very handy as I required some superglue and parcel tape.
On the way home we called at the local shop so that I could send back my used coffee pods for recycling. that was where we saw the Ferrari which had been abandoned by somebody who either can't park or thinks it is their God given right to just leave it wherever they wanted. I thought about keying it but SWMBO wouldn't let me ........ far too many CCYV cameras!
I had to try and put a 2nd coat of resin on my leaky mug - since the heat had melted the glue holding it on the lathe and it had fallen off ... Grrrr
I don't think the 2nd coat is working either. I suspect it is the wrong kind of resin. We shall see tomorrow.
There was a lot of motorbike noise from (I thought) the playing fields so I took the camera with a long lens down there to see if I could catch them.
There was nobody there (apart from the nearly naked man sunbathing at the far end (with his far end mooning the sun) .... so I stayed at the top of the steps, lay down and took pictures of the buttercups -- not too easy with the wind blowing them about.
I tried making another thin stemmed drinking vessel. It was going really well until I went to cut the base off .......... and the stem snapped. Ahh well!.
Shots of the Buttercups, daisies and a hoverfly (not hovering) are over here
