Airport nightmare

We arrived at 11.30am for a flight at 2.05pm. We were still queuing to get through passport control at 2.20pm. This is a photo of the queue circling the departure lounge and coiling into another circle inside the first.

As flights should have been about to depart the passengers queuing were called forward and the rest of queue stayed where they were for another 30 minutes…. Anxious people were pushing in - Arrrgh it was stressful.

It was very bad. After passport control we waited a further 1.5 hours as the passengers on the plane we should have boarded were sitting on the tarmac not allowed to disembark as the queue to get through passport control (the other way) was extending onto the runway!

A disappointing and very exhausting end to a good holiday. I’m not sure what went wrong but lack of staff, information and control were the nub of it. Luckily no flared tempers were obvious but it puts me off Corfu as a destination in the future.
