Was I/Were we in time.

Not long ago Jerra informed me that:- 
"TV has just said Edgeworthia are thirsty plants." 
Something the label did NOT say upon receipt.
Something not mentioned in WIKIwotnot OR RHS Spiel; is it any wonder I/we didn't know?
Since then it's had a daily Kettleful of water daily.  If it survives it'll continue to get it - unless it rains.

I can understand it in a potted Plant in a drought, but - established plant in open soil?

Particular dischuffedness since I'd only recently discovered it hadn't died.
