A Day In The Life

Motion

That was us today, in motion, getting things done in the garden while the sun was shining • We added soil to the potato bags to cover growing plants; planted cosmos around our mailbox; added zinnias to the cat box and butterfly bed; potted up nasturtiums; plus watered and weed whacked • A thunderstorm is now moving through and rain is expected to continue all day tomorrow • In an attempt to deter spotted fawn and our resident woodchuck from eating more plants, I found enough pinwheels in the shed to place around the butterfly bed. Who knows how effective they’ll be after baby deer ate the echinacea and lobelia during the night • The pinwheel was invented in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1919, originally called “wind wheel” • Happy Weekend!
