Baby Blackcap

I was shooting a crab spider on rough chervil (extras) by the front field maple hedge when I heard a faint scratchy noise. It was a blackcap fledgling. What an adorable little thing it is. The blackcaps have been delighting me with their beautiful fluting song since they arrived in March.

This afternoon I noticed swallows swooping around the northerly boiler house chimney. We rushed back to the house to change lenses. Through the long lens I could see a swallow fledgling sitting up there. My pic in extras shows another joining it. They were up there for ages. I'm pleased that they had gone when we went for our evening walk.
