Pitlochry
Last day of our wee holiday today and there's some serious backblipping to be done! Set off from Applecroft Cottage in 23 degree heat and didn't feel quite ready to be going home. Said goodbye to the cows who had been entertaining us all week and got on the road.
First stop was Aviemore to see if we could pikc up a replacement fire set for mum, but had no luck. Then a second stop at Pitlochry for some lunch and a nosy at the fish ladder. Cafe had some rather excellent looking scones but I went with a carrot cake to take home instead. Pitlochry was heaving, we arrived at the same time as an american tourist coach, and had a bit of a chuckle when a landrover came and parked in a car parking space that someone was desperatley trying to save in a busy car park. We got reminded about why we seek out the quite bits of Scotland instead of the touristy bits!
No salmon leaping up the fish ladder whilst we were there, though P saw one in the river. We're now home and thankfully its clouded over a little and neighbour W has done a fab job of looking after the cats for us whilst we were away. Still doesn't really feel like we're home yet though!
