Roseisle

Last day of the holiday and it's still been too hot to do anything!  We normally don't do hugely long drives, but thought that a day at the beach doing not very much was called for, so we took a trip out to Roseisle.  This has to be one of my favourite places - scots pines growing out of sand dunes right up the beach.  Said beach is also huge so even on a stonking hot day like today you don't have to go far to find your own bit of quiet.

I spent much of the morning reading my book, then had a wee swim in the afternoon.  There's something pretty fun about sitting in the shallows and letting the waves lift you.  Met some friendly locals who said that last week the dolphins were coming right up onto the beach shallows, alas no such luck today.

For the last night we asked our hosts if we could use their scandinavian BBQ hut which they kindly set up for us.  One of the hosts is an artists and she'd painted the inside of the hut in a night woodland scene.  Made me want to come back in the winter as it would be a fab place to cosy up on a cold night.  Be sad to leave tomorrow as the cottage and this part of the world is really beautiful and quiet.
