Canalside

A quieter day today, recharging batteries after a busy week and the Sigur Ros concert yesterday evening. My eldest daughter stayed over and, as she has a painful ankle after an insect bite, Jen and I took her dog, Kanji, for a walk in Brookwood Country Park which included a walk along a stretch of the Basingstoke canal as pictured. I'm not sure if the park was part of the former Brookwood Hospital which is about half a mile away and was a Victorian mental health hospital that closed in the 1990s, I think. It was later converted into expensive apartments. The celebrated author, the late  Hilary Mantel,  lived there at one time.
