Everyday I Write The Book

Salad days

I went to Canterbury to collect strider this morning. He has just finished three years at uni as a mature student so today was the end of another era. There were plenty of other families helping students move out, so lots of comings and goings. When we got back, the Dizzle and Ms R were waiting with TSM, so we had an hour of yakking and family time.

Hot and tired after my 170 mile round trip so fell asleep in a garden chair.

No energy today. But went shopping for fresh veg and made a really nice roast aubergine salad.

TGR’s latest shot from the Pacific Crest Trail is an extra.

Thinking a lot about the future at the moment. Met a woman whilst packing the car today. She was lovely and chatty and in her early eighties. She recounted losing her husband eighteen months before. He was taken ill and died three weeks later. Value the present and love every day she said. Wise words.

PS if you get a chance watch "George Michael on the BBC" on BBC iPlayer - some great performances.
