HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU

This was my best shot today - complete chance when I pointed and clicked the camera at a small bird that had just landed on a frame round the base of a shady tree before I could see what it was.

My most exciting finds today were some avocet chicks (extra) and a great diving beetle, my photo of which is so boring I shan't even bother to upload it. I was fascinated though.
