PEONIES FOR THE PENNY-PINCHING

I've mentioned before that I look out for bargains in the flower section of the supermarket and I found these peonies at least two weeks before I took this photo, marked down from £10 to £1.50 because they were on their sell-by date yet still in tight bud. It's taken this long for them to start opening, and a week later, as I'm finally posting this, they're still not fully open but look just as lovely.
