Green and shady

An early cycle ride along the river, Home Park and Bushy Park. This is a lovely avenue of lime trees in Bushy Park and at this time of year the flowers smell lovely. Still looking green here despite the hot weather but the exposed grass is very dry and brown. Many fewer people in this area than between Richmond and Kingston where I cycled at the same time last Sunday. Lots of activity in Home Park as the tents etc are going up for the Hampton Court Flower Show and access to one part is now closed off.

We went out to lunch with both our children and their families, to restaurant near Teddington Lock which overlooks the river. A lovely lunch which everyone enjoyed and the children’s menu was very good and they ate it all! I had a lovely main course…crusted salmon with saffron mash and a watercress sauce…see extra. There was also good roast beef and lobster rolls.

After we went to a local playground and we were the only people there which was amazing. It’s good the three grandchildren all play well together. Then back to our house before the rain started around 5 pm …it’s very welcome.
