Poppies at Hampton Court

This morning I went for a bike ride along the Thames to Hampton Court before it got too hot. The Jubilee Bloom flowers outside the front entrance of Hampton Court have changed dramatically since I visited 9 days ago…see blip on 9 June. There are now lots of lovely poppies and cornflowers coming out too. A really good mixture has been planted and is doing well in this location. I hope the ones at the Tower are now better. I will be visiting there again in about a months time.

The Hampton Court Festival of evening concerts is currently happening and preparations are going ahead for the Hampton Court Flower Show which starts on 4 July. Part of Home Park is closed off and the bridge has been constructed over the Long Water, for the Flower Show.

There were many fishermen on the banks of the River and it looked as though lots had camped there overnight. I saw at least 10 tents, not just the shelter type . The fishing season has just started so I imagine there is lots of initial enthusiasm. I also saw quite a few people setting out along the tow path with laden trollies of fishing gear.
Also lots of litter on the grass near Hampton Court…a teenage party maybe, maybe they were listening to the concert last night from outside?

Watching tennis at Queens again but rain has stopped play. We have had a few showers earlier.
