Selfie with Coops
On the way back from Glen Affric on Monday, we drove past a sign which said 'alpaca trekking' . As it was only down the road from where we were staying, we had to give it a go. I walked Cooper, P had Shadow and Thunder accompanied us too. We got followed for a wee while by the young ones who were wondering why they weren't going for a walk too. It was still pretty hot (the shearer was due the next day, so they weren't keeping their woolly coats for long!) so we didn't walk too far or for too long, but it's always a pleasure hanging out with some 'pacas. Cooper and Shadow were pretty chill, Coops was so chill that he kepy on stopping to have a sit down and chew on some grass! Can hardly blame him in the heat.
For the afternoon, we went to Plodda falls which was magnificent and spent an hour-ish wandering around one of the woodland trails. In the heat, the pines smelt delicious and the forest was so quiet it was pretty magical. We also got the falls to ourselves. After that, we headed out to the Corrimony Cairn which was pretty cool, and we had to crawl in on your hands and knees, but great to just see something like that in a field.
There was still a bit of time remaining to the afternoon and we were vaguley near Drumnadrochit so we drove over to check it out. Suffice to say that we've done that once now and we never have to do it again in our lives. Tried to salvage that bit of the trip by stopping off to get some views of Loch Ness, but there wasn't really that much to see and it felt a bit dissapointing in comparison to other lochs (that's me being a loch snob). The evening ended well in Inverness where we got some tasty Mexican food from Esco Bar so it wasn't a complete waste of a trip!
