Have A Heart
Today I had to go to town to buy some new hearing aid batteries for my Dad. He has some in the bungalow but I really did not want to trek over there again. Whilst in town I went and took photos of a heart that is part of this year's sculpture trail. (St Barnabas HeART Trail) This one covers the whole county - there are 20 hearts in Lincoln, 5 on the East Coast and one each in Boston, Gainsborough, Louth, Grantham and Spalding. You can see the design on the other side of this one in the extra.
I visited Dad this afternoon/early evening. He was glad to get the new batteries, but not too happy about the situation in the hospital. He still has not had the ultrasound and of course has not had the operation! He isn't keen on the ward he's on - he says they are all "old" people, which they are...it also seems very short staffed in comparison to others he's been on.
While I was there though, they transferred him to the ward next door - not really sure why. It too is a surgical ward. It seems to have more staff and there seemed to be more going on. The other men in there are all very elderly still, but most seem a little more "with it"
The move happened bang on tea-time, so I had to make sure they had the food he'd previously ordered in the ward he was now on and assist him with eating it since he can still only use his left hand.
After that it was time to go and do the Tesco shopping.
I really want to go to more live rugby games but after all the worry as to whether we would have to cancel Magic Weekend, and missing out on Sunday having paid for tickets I'm really wary about booking to go again while everything is so uncertain with my Dad. I love going to live Rugby more than any other interest I have!
