A tangle of delight
This was taken on the ‘secret’ stepping stone path at the back of our garden, which has railway sleeper steps up the slope at one end and an ornamental bird bath by the wildflower patch at the other end. It is a favourite haunt of our granddaughters, who never tire of running to and fro along the path, playing hide and seek and picking flowers.
The recent welcome rain, which has nearly filled the water butt, has helped everything to grow apace. These Pretty Lady roses and ox-eye daisies are now arching towards each other across the secret path, making it virtually impassible without a gentle tug at the stems to free a passage through. Granny will have to work hard to clear it back a bit before the little ones’ next visit!
