Tuesday: #30DaysWild - A Nature Walk …
… which took me through our street to the main road. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see 3 wildflower patches in front of the bungalows with pale mauve wild orchids growing amongst the grass, white clover and other common flowers - didn’t want to draw attention to them by taking a photo as I’ve read of people digging them up and planting them in pots where they die, they need all the special fungi which share the soil with them.
Along the short stretch on the main road decided to walk down our lane which is where I saw all the wild flowers in today’s Blip :-)
Ox-eye daisies and pink & white comfrey, wild elderflower, dog rose which was covered with all sorts of insects and a very pretty pink morning glory. Saw a Red Admiral butterfly but it wasn’t willing to settle on any plants :-((
As I got back into our road, the family who live in my Mum’s old house arrived home and we had a very long chat about all manner of things … then MrD joined in :-)
Decided to plant a dozen or so runner beans “Scarlet Emperor” in a large terracotta pot - only one of my “perennial” runner beans is showing any sign of growth after I lifted them for repotting.
Weather warm and oppressive this afternoon, we’d had a short shower from the east this morning - got washing dried outdoors.
UPDATE ON YESTERDAY’S MOTH - please revisit to see correct identification with help from Blip friend Sgwarnog, diolch :-))
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
