Lörudden Labyrinth
We took the camper van out to a headland just over an hour south of where we live, to the village of Lörudden, an old fishing village (see Jan's blip for the harbour).
Many of the fishing villages in northern Sweden have a labyrinth like this one. The oldest is from the 1200's. Why did the fishermen build these? I've heard different explanations. The notice by this one explained that they had a magic function, to control the wind so the fishing boats could sail out, and so they could return safely home.
Just the other side of the labyrinth is Jan, and 'Arry the camper van. Just behind me are the flat rocks leading down to the sea.
In the extra is tonight's sunset. This is the second longest day of the year and the sun went down just after 10:30, setting a little north of north-west. It'll rise again just under 4 hours later.
The forecast rain on Thursday is getting less and less, and the cloudy days after seem to have become sunny days - the drought continues...
