Channelling Dame Edna?
To add to the list of disasters recently, my glasses broke last week. They were my spare ones, as my other ones long since bit the dust, so I had no choice but go to the optician this afternoon.
I should have gone about three years ago but having been told last time I was developing cataracts, and looking at everything through a kind of foggy circle for the past few months, it was pretty scary.
The foggy bit mysteriously disappeared last week and my eyes are apparently ‘very healthy’ so, apart from the pain inflicted on my credit card, it was a pleasant surprise! My eyes are, as I suspected, getting more long-sighted, so my new glasses won’t look quite so much like the bottom of a glass bottle! They fixed my old glasses for free, too, which was a huge relief as I couldn’t really live like that for the week it takes for the new ones to arrive, especially as I had to drive to a school in Eastbourne again today.
I didn’t buy these ones but they were unbelievably comfortable and actually looked pretty good. Maybe next time..!
