The Davis Cup!

Today I went to Queens Club to see the tennis tournament taking place there this week. This photo is of the Davis Cup which was on display advertising the next tournament for the group that GB is in, which will be in Manchester in September. I had never seen it before…the top tier has the winners when the tournament first started in  1900 between GB and USA. The lower layers are for later years results. It is huge! Many other countries were gradually invited to join in and now over 100. 

The extra is the view we had of the outside of the Centre Court from our seats on No1 court. We only had ground tickets with unreserved seating but I would not have wanted to be in the blazing sun on Centre Court today, no shade or cover at all. 
We saw Jamie Murray playing doubles…he lost. Andy Murray lost yesterday! However Cam Norrie won today.  

A nice day out. Not too hot but no rain thankfully.
