Down at the canal today

I went for a wee preamble along the canal today. I’m aware that this is the wrong word, but I will press on. I’ve been doing prescribed exercises for a while which causes a little tenderness, so walking can be a touch painful which is why I’m keeping it to a minimum.
   There was no sign of the oystercatchers and the two juvenile gulls look fine. They are sensibly sticking together.
