The fruit of the ash tree

Or seed pod if you prefer. Oddly some of last year's seed pods while looking a bit brown and withered are still hanging in clumps on the tree. But this is a tree which knows how to mulriply. Soon there will be slender saplings all over the place. Then, to quote Charlie Darwin, only the fittest will survive. (Or those who have landed in a des res spot.)
