Butts full to the brim

I don't know about you but we're paying for the nice back holiday weekend all through the week Today was dreadful, rain, rain and more rain, so much so that both butts were full to overflowing. Strange thing about water butts, when you don't need the water because it's wet, the butts are full. As soon as the rain stops, you quickly use up all the water in the butts. Must need a butt the size of a swimming pool really.

The rain today put me in mind of a little ditty I heard whilst travelling on the west coast of New Zealand nearly 20 years ago:

It rained and rained and rained,
The average fall was quite maintained,
And when the tracks were simply bogs,
It started raining cats and dogs.

After a drought of half an hour,
We had a most refreshing shower,
And then the most curious thing of all,
A gentle rain begain to fall.

Next day was also fairly dry
Save for a deluge from the sky,
Which wetted the party to the skin,
After that the rain set in.

Went to the gym in the morning but couldn't do any of the tasks we wanted to do outside in the afternoon. Was planning to clear our the garage but too miserable (and a bit like clearing the Augean Stables, if your garage is anything like mine)

So, had to be content with creating a flyer for a presentation next week and sorting out bank accounts and such like - the sort of thing you only get around to on days like this.
