University of British Columbia

We spent the bulk of the day in and around the University of British Columbia campus.

They have a marvellous collection of outdoor art which is dotted around the campus.  Transcendence by Jack Harman is shown off well in its setting. The bronze is a symbol of the University being interpreted as rising above and going beyond the limits.    

The Nitobe Japanese 'stroll' garden on the campus is considered one of the most authentic outside Japan. It's a wonderful tranquil place.
