Kalsoy

We were all up and ready to roll at 0530. The ferry from Klaksvik to Kalsoy left at 0640 but we wanted to be certain of our place in the queue.

We were first by a long chalk. It was misty and atmospheric. You can walk anywhere around the boats in the harbour.

After a calm crossing we drove to the start point of our walk. Up and up, on green paths, battling high winds until we saw the fabulous views.

The lighthouse is a famous viewpoint. We took a short ridge to the viewpoint for my blip. You can just see part of the path on the left of the image!

It was a tough walk but exhilarating.

On our way home we were too far back in the queue for the first ferry. While we waited, a few Arctic terns flew around our heads. We had the opportunity to practice photographing them. Not easy!

I can hardly stay awake now.
