The cutting is far cooler than the garden on these hot afternoons so that's where we enjoyed tea today. Simon, Tessa and Matt joined us.

Hetty and I stopped at the Caen Hill cafe on our way home from this morning's walk. It was heaving with holiday makers. 

I got chatting with a couple from Lancashire who showed me photos of Eric, their son's black and tan cocker spaniel.  Then chatted with a couple of cyclists from Devon.

I'm turning into Clive"s mum. She'd start a conversation with anyone.

We've had an offer on Clive's dad's house.
