Robinson' retreat
After a hot day (mid 30s), exacerbated by a power cut and alleviated by several pool dips, in the late afternoon it was a relief and fun to go with Graham and Kat (and taking Rufus - I am keeping a careful eye on his tail issue and continue to be very worried about it) for what Kat calls 'an excursion'. They wanted to go to a little bay we've not visited before, the destination being a place they found on Facebook called ‘Robinson’s Caravan’. Well off the beaten track, in Dalyanaki, we drove a rocky dirt road towards the shore to find a kind of semipermanent bivouac style shelter such as a castaway might make, hence the name I'm guessing, where we enjoyed a lengthy visit and interesting conversation with the proprietor of this most unlikely place for refreshment. Ramshackle it might be, but he has solar powered electric, council provided water, a camper van to sleep in - he even has wifi! Clearly we all had a good time as it was past 9pm by the time we got home.
