History
We've had a very interesting day out at the historic Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings. I've seen this iconic building in a state of disrepair since I arrived in Shropshire in 1973 but now thanks to Historic England, the National Lottery and Friends of the Flaxmill it's now restored and so full of history.
We had a wonderful time exploring the exhibition in the mill itself, much appreciated by Mr. HB, then a relax in the cafe with iced peach tea and gluten free ginger coffee latte cake. We sat outside but didn't like the look of the ominous black clouds approaching and only just made it into the Textile Exhibition housed in the old Dye House, before the heavens opened and a major thunder storm and very heavy downpours arrived. I loved the Textiles a little more than Mr HB!! Some treats in extras.
