First up was the 2010 Dix 3 v 2011 Div 2 at Broughton. A 0930 kick off, so out before 9; cool and fresh before the heat picked up; it was nice. 

I dropped Alex and set about a flat white and wrote notes for Cigs: The Film before returning for kick off. The older boys physical superiority won out over the younger boys obvious technical advantage but it was good natured.

Then home for a quick turn around - Alex team were having an end of season social on the beach with a bbq, and She was also attending , but with her friend Nic O La as they wanted to swim. 

Eventually the five of us (inc dog) made it to the beach; the bbq-ers were already firing the coals and She and friend dived into the sea. With the forecast looking less than promising, we did well to get nearly 2 hours before rain inevitably ground proceedings to a halt. A fun couple of hours, though.

A quiet rest of afternoon, as She headed home, and pork and cider casserole was rolled out to a soundtrack of Loyle Cander (new to me; striking, though) 

The team still had enough energy after their match to charge around the beach under leaden skies
