happy Monday

Happy Monday.

Catastrophe is really weird. If you watch it, it isn't my fault.

Miranda, I have no idea what kind of flower this is, but thank you for hosting the wildflower challenge.

We are not having thunderstorms or tornadoes or hail. If you don't hear from me tomorrow maybe we had them later.

In other good news,  nearly 1,400 Ukrainian children have been evacuated and treated in hospitals in Europe, the US, and Canada. This is thanks to pediatric oncologists, the Ukraine Ministry of Health, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Now they are working to improve pediatric cancer care IN Ukraine.

There is a video on social media showing a Russian air defense system failing to track or destroy a Ukrainian Storm Shadow missile. The Pantsir-S1 is a Russian self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and missile system. Not only is apparently not very good but Russia has lost 18 of them since invading the other year.  The British provide Storm Shadow missiles, on the other hand, apparently rock and the Russians think they were used against the bridge connecting Russia to Crimea.

Russia bought some land in Australia and was planning to build an embassy. In mid-June Australia cancelled the lease on security grounds. The Prime Minister said he expected some protest from Russia but wasn't worried. "Russia hasn't been real good at the law lately," he said.
"We don't expect Russia is in a position to talk about international law given their rejection of it so consistently and so brazenly with their invasion of Ukraine."
