More Than I Hoped

Rain all night and day. I thought it had stopped when I went out, but had to find shelter. Without much hope I scanned around for signs of life, but it seems everyone was staying dry somewhere else.

After a while the rain eased and I wandered back and by chance saw this downy woodpecker drying himself off. I had seen glimpses of him over the last weeks and hoped to get a shot. Although he stayed put, he was constantly twitching around trying to straighten his feathers. I was lucky to get one still frame.
