Maybe Not An Ideal Lead Shot
The weather has been pretty rubbish today ..... up until it was time to cook the diner!
Typical.
I had done the shopping - in two stores - and had the breakfast served before Squirrel arrived.
Coffee at 11 was a bit of a disaster - the coffee machine spat the coffee all over the place. That is bad enough, but cleaning the grounds from all the nooks and crannies of the machine is a nightmare.
We were out for a buffet lunch at The Larder's offices.
It wasn't just a 'Thank You' for the volunteers - it was also to get feedback on various things regarding the way the meals are put together and delivered. We were also given a 'heads up' as to the direction things are going later in the year. Funding is being cut by about 50% so the whole structure of meal deliveries is changing which will mean that the delivery routes will change on what could almost be a weekly basis. This will require much more input from the volunteers as well as the staff, so a lot of the meeting was taken up with what kind of feedback will be required and how the office will get it all sorted and organised for the next week.
It is expected that recipient numbers will drop initially and that over time it may well climb again, but the intention is that more people will be required (or at least be able) to collect them from drop off points ..... or a van that will be going to set points in the busiest areas.
Times - They are a changing.................
After the rain stopped I went out to the garden to see if there was anything worth looking at. There are 8 shots over here.
