I looked for you in the bluebell woods
And couldn't find you anywhere.
You were nowhere,
Though I could feel you with me somewhere.
In the tiny anemone's golden six-pointed star?
In the scattered pale-yellow oxlips?
In the stray ragged robin's pink?
I couldn't think.
Then suddenly I knew:
The bluebells - knee-high, as far as the eye could see
Between the chestnut trunks - they were you:
Anywhere? Nowhere? Somewhere? Everywhere.
