The vicar...
... Of Dibley.
Apparently this is the church in a small village in the Home Counties that is the inspiration for Dibley. We went on a recce today to look around the village of Turville, near High Wycombe, to take some publicity photos for our next but one show (Whistle Down the Wind comes first, if you we're wondering). Anyhoo, we took a pootle in the car to see what was so special about this place. The answer is... Everything. It's absolutely beautiful. The surrounding countryside is perfection. We left Luton under cloudy skies, but the sun was shining when we arrived at this English idyll. The church is lovely - and sine of the names we found in the churchyard were amusing too (Fanny Eeles and her husband John Thomas). We took lots of photos, we had a drink in the pub garden - cone in, it would be rude not to - and we just soaked up a little bit of the atmosphere.
Perfect.
(There was a house for sale - I looked it up when we got home. It turns out perfection comes with a hefty price tag.)
