COOMBE WOODS.

We had a lovely afternoon at these gardens, it has been a long time since we were last there. The top photo is of the pond with water lilies blooming making a great display. The other 2 are of various flowers in the gardens but the Archwsy were " A" is standing leads to what were the stables. Further down is the café , there is a sunken walled area , a real sun trap, we sat here & enjoyed a cuppa .
There is a long history to Coombe Woods & for those interested Mr Google has a wealth of information! Originally it was joined to a common which stretch for several miles going back 400 years.
We had a lovely 4th Sunday of trinity! A great service & hymns. It was the parish BBQ today glad it stayed dry for them. As my day was " kinda rough" ( left over from tother day) I didn't join them.
