Not your usual coast path
Weather around Keswick was forecast to be rubbish (again) but on the coast the outlook was dry but windy.
So we caught the bus to Workington and walked the coast path to Maryport.
Finding the path entailed crossing major intersections and semi-industrial dereliction to get to the coast, but at least it was well signposted. We had the Gregg’s sandwiches for lunch sitting on a windswept rock between the sea and the railway line with a commanding view of Workington’s sewage treatment plant.
Maryport was a little better but clearly both towns are suffering badly.
The weather behaved and the buses all worked. A little late back but all good.
