From Russia With Love

In Kenai there are some Russian buildings that have been preserved.  Me being me I liked the back of the church rather than the front.  It is the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church 1894.  The Russians built a fort for their fur traders in 1791.  When we thought about doing this trip in 2020 I was reading James A Michener's, Alaska.  I will go home and re read it and have more understanding.  I do remember being appalled at the slaughter of the Otter populations for their fur.
