Stafford Castle
It's been several months since Little Man and I went to the castle. It's was a gorgeous day, and we needed to get out. Hubby got home late last night and wanted some downtime. So we went into town and then headed up to the castle. Despite the summer opening hours, the main castle itself was locked, but you could still walk up to the ruins and wander around the outside. We sat in the sun for a while and enjoyed the views. There was the low hum from the nearby M6 and the occasional train horn. It was beautiful and so different from our last visit when there was snow on the ground.
We then came home via the Isabel Trail, but we couldn't complete the entire thing as the council was busy doing some sort of maintenance to the plants growing alongside the path.
