This Great Blue Skimmer dragonfly has been hanging around our pond all morning, undoubtedly here for the tiny winged creatures that are abundant in our yard this time of the year. She especially savors the bane of humankind...the mosquito. On still summer evenings, when there are several dragonflies hunting over the pond, I've even been able to hear their jaws snapping as the eat their fill of the 'mozzies'.
