Feeding His Boy

Male Pileated woodpeckers are truly amazing fathers. A couple of weeks ago I posted photos of a male feeding his daughter. Feed Me Dad. I'm almost certain that it's not the same dad since the photos were taken a couple of miles apart. This one is a daily visitor at our BarkButter feeders and has been bringing Junior around for a week or so. And although Junior has been sampling our delicious offerings himself, dad is still feeding him. I have no idea where mom is. She typically doesn't visit our feeders so hopefully she's at home with her feet up, taking a well deserved time out!
